This text focuses on the book The Age of Rudeness by Renata Salecl, published by Metis Publications in June 2026, translated by Bülent Kale. Salecl, whose work centers on capturing the spirit of our time through the lens of various emotions and phenomena, discusses the loss of politeness and the spread of rudeness across all spheres of social life in her book. In this context, this text examines the fundamental dynamics that make rudeness so acceptable today, specifically in relation to neoliberalism through Salecl’s perspective.
