This study investigates how remote work platforms transform worker subjectivity and foster resistance against algorithmic surveillance. Netnographic analysis of Reddit data reveals that status indicators induce panoptic anxiety and visibility pressure. While workers employ tactical resistance to game the system, these practices fail to alleviate affective burdens like guilt and the constant compulsion for self-explanation. Ultimately, the study demonstrates that remote work establishes a regime prioritized around visibility performance rather than productivity, where digital surveillance operates as a fragile power field simultaneously generating both discipline and resistance.
