Social work is an applied profession and academic discipline that aims to meet the needs of individuals, groups and society within the framework of human rights and social justice principles. Social workers, who work with the aim of meeting the basic needs of disadvantaged groups, improving their living standards and contributing to their reintegration into society, face various structural, professional and systemic problems while practicing their profession. These problems include factors such as excessive workload, bureaucratic obstacles, insufficient resources, lack of strengthening professional identity and lack of supervision. Measures such as increasing the number of social workers, promoting digitalization, clarifying professional boundaries and expanding in-service trainings stand out as solutions. This study aims to provide contributions to increase the effectiveness of the social work profession and to achieve a more sustainable structure. Strengthening the profession will not only improve the working conditions of social workers, but also contribute positively to the general welfare of society.
