This article will examine the migration movements that emerged in the aftermath of the earthquakes on February 6, 2023 through the lens of social inequalities. In the face of the destruction and losses caused by the earthquake, migration has been one of the most important coping strategies of the population in the disaster area. Studies on post-disaster migration in the international literature underline that one of the most important tools for earthquake-affected communities to adapt to the post-disaster period is spatial relocation. The same studies also show that this mobility is not equal for everyone. In this paper, based on field research conducted in the aftermath of the February 2023 earthquakes, the relationship between social inequalities and migration will be examined with a focus on the Syrian refugee population in the region.
