Bilişsel Esneklik ve Kariyer Uyumu İlişkisinde Gelecek Zaman Perspektifinin Aracı Rolü

The aim of the present study is to examine the mediating role of future time perspective in the relationship between cognitive flexibility and career adaptability in undergraduate students. The participants of the research consist of 535 undergraduate students attending at a public university in Turkey and participating in this study voluntarily. The research data were obtained through the Cognitive Flexibilty Inventory, Career Adaptability Scale- Short Form, Future Time Perspective Scale and the Personel Information Form. Process Macro 4.2, developed by Hayes to test the mediating roles has been used. According to findings, the focus on opportunities sub-dimension of future time perspective has a moderate mediating role was observed in the relationship between cognitive flexibility and career adaptability. The sub-dimension of focusing on limitations has a lower level mediating function in this relationship. This study provides an empirical contribution to conceptual explanations of career adaptability by revealing the indirect role of future time perspective on career adaptability.
